Last 1st and 2nd of March took place the Congress on Orthognathic Surgery Face Airway Bite (FAB) in La Paz University Hospital of Madrid. Formedika by Osteoplac organized this event, and it was directed by the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service, whose Head of Service is Dr. Miguel Burgueño. The congress, addressed to orthodontists and maxillofacial surgeons, was attended by 200 national and international professionals.
The speakers were Dr. William Arnett (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, USA), Dr. Simonas Grybauskas (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Lithuania) and Dr. Dalia Latkauskiene (Orthodontist, Lithuania).
During the congress subjects like TMJ and Obstructive Sleep Apnea were studied; as well as their causes, symptoms, risk factors, diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Arnett explained the treatment plan of the Face Airway Bite (FAB); its philosophy, facial examination, cephalometric facial and the cephalometric airway. The congress ended with some surgical cases explained by Dr. Arnett.
Last Monday, 3th of March, at the University Hospital La Paz, Madrid, and under the supervision of Dr. Julio Acero (Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Service), Dr. Arnett gave a conference on Surgical Techniques addressed to maxillofacial surgeons and orthodontists specialized in the area of Orthognathic Surgery. During the conference, subjects as BSSO osteotomy, seating the condyle, multisegment LFI osteotomy, upper lip reconstruction and Cheekbone augmentation were dealt with.
Based on a previous survey, attendees to the congress and conference were highly satisfied with the quality of the speakers as well as the congress.
