Formedika presents a new theoretical-practical postgraduate program aimed at orthodontists: "Orthodontics, Occlusion and Temporomandibular Dysfunction. New concepts on diagnosis and treatment planning". This course will be directed by Dr. Domingo Martín (Orthodontist, Spain) and will count with the presence of Dr. Guillermo Ochoa (Orthodontist, Argentina), Dr. Mariano Rocabado (Doctor in Physical Therapy, Chile), Dr. Alberto Canábez (Orthodontist, Spain), with the collaboration of Dr. Amaia Maté (Orthodontist, Spain), Dr. Jaime Valenzuela (Orthontist, Spain) and Mr. Iñaki Álvarez (Laboratory technician, Spain). This postgraduate program has 5 sessions of four days each.
Temporomandibular joint disorders are a group of alterations related to temporomandibular joint and its surrounding anatomical structures. These are usually the cause of undiagnosed headaches and facial disorders of varying intensity that affect the 50% of the population. Learning to diagnose the pain, and understanding and managing joint sounds is essential in order to apply an accurate treatment.
This postgraduate program will deal with all the aspects related to these pathologies and the professional will learn all the techniques and resources needed to diagnose future articular pathologies related to growth and development disorders. At the end of this course, the professional will be able to establish an accurate therapeutic approach to manage TJM disorders. He will become a better professional and he will be able to provide a better care to those patients with some kind of temporomandibular disorder.
